Chef Ranojit Kundu, alumnus of IHM Bhubaneswar, batch of 1990-’93 , started his career with Cidade de Goa in F&B Service. His next assignment was with “The Ambassadors” – Churchgate, Mumbai. Thereafter, 6 years, with a chain of Arabic and French bakery outlets-“ On his return to India, in 2001, he worked for Taj Bengal-Bakery and Pastry, for 1and ½ years. To enrich his career, he engaged himself in the “Operation Iraqi Freedom” US military camp, in Iraq. After surviving the combat zone and signing off the contract, he turns his career, towards Hospitality Education and takes up his new role and responsibility from 2005 at BCIHMCT, where he started teaching, F &B Service and Bakery. Chef Kundu, takes keen interest in organizing inter-college culinary competitions, Food Production and Bakery workshops, students’ field trips and include them in international tours. He completed the two weeks Cochran fellowship program in 2016, organized by the USDA and also contributed towards the success of the” English baking camp” at Hyejeon College in South Korea for 4 years. His continued exposure of over 3 decades, in the hospitality industry, made him earn the prestigious and coveted, Indian Culinary Forum’s-Pastry Chef of the Year Award in 2019. As part of the CSR activities, he and other team members, gets associated with several NGOs and has been successful in engaging, under privileged child education into baking and culinary profession. Judging culinary competitions, being the Guest Speaker during Orientation Programmes, in various HM Institutes, radio talk shows, expert speaker on Live TV programmes are just a few areas of his interests. Chef Kundu, envisages to contribute even more, by being an author of a Bakery & Confectionery, reference book.
